So far, everything I have paid back, based on my salary, has been easy to finance. Even if I were to make the maximum repayment, I would be happy because I would be helping others. At CHANCEN eG, I see the people and their stories – part of my job is to finance new beginnings!

Graduate of the Ironhack Berlin bootcamp “Data Analytics”

Three years ago, in 2019, I came to a point in my life as a Business Developer in Brazil where I was really dissatisfied. My wife and I were so unhappy that we risked a radical new start, sold everything and then moved to Aachen, where my wife had already once lived happily. To look for a job I started a B2 German course, but then the pandemic came and I could not continue the classes. Since my German was not good enough yet, I also struggled to find a job too. Since I have an affinity for technology and some experience in this field, I got the idea to train as a Data Analyst in a bootcamp.  However, most bootcamps offered remote courses in German only, and the English Data Analyst courses were not funded by the Jobcentre. I finally came across the bootcamp Ironhack, thus also learned about CHANCEN eG and was impressed. During my repayment, I can in turn help others change their lives.

I started applying for jobs during the course, so I found a job right after. Many of the tools I learned about in the bootcamp were helpful here, but not all. I still had to learn a lot, as well during the job I did afterwards. I am now with another company and couldn’t be happier. The work-life balance is good and my manager helps me grow in my position.

Without CHANCEN eG, it would have been a much longer and more difficult road. I would have had to learn German and wait until the pandemic was over. Also, I would have had to save up enough money first to make my dream possible.

Regarding the repayment process, I have no complaints. At the beginning of my repayment period, I asked for a break in payment of one month in January 2021, since my first salary did not come until the following month. This would not have been possible with a normal loan. So far, everything I have repaid, based on my salary, has been easy to finance. Even if I were to make the maximum repayment of 13,000€, I would be happy because I would be helping others. At a bank, I wouldn’t be happy about that as I wouldn’t know what they were doing with my money. At CHANCEN eG, I see the people and their stories – part of my job is to finance new beginnings!

At the time, I was apprehensive about changing my entire life. However, when I saw the student portraits on CHANCEN’s website, I realized that it was common to change careers. That gave me the confidence to make a change.
