Anna Böhler is already supporting the CHANCEN eG team as a working student for a year now in our communication department. She is responsible for almost all layouts, leaflets, brochures that were created during this time. Now we finally want to shed some light on her and speak about one year at CHANCEN eG.
Hello dear Anna, please tell us how did you actually became a part of CHANCEN eG.
Before I became part of the CHANCEN eG team I was looking for a task that really fills me with joy besides my psychology studies. That has always been creative tasks such as writing texts, make graphics, magazines, posters, and to layout flyers. When I read on Facebook that CHANCEN eG was looking for a student employee in this sector I knew that that was exactly what I had been looking for. Is there anything better than to convert your hobby into a part-time job? I use the income share agreement model myself at my University Witten/Herdecke and I have always been interested in working in a startup.
What have been your main tasks? What did you enjoy the most?
For some time I was mainly responsible for the content and the layout of the newsletter and the Facebook presence of CHANCEN eG and the print magazine CHANCEN Schreiben. Lately my studies became a little more intense and in the meantime Nathalie and Mara joined our team who took a lot of my work. That is why now the main part of my job are smaller layot tasks that are the most fun for me.
Where did you actually learn how to use the different design programs?
All by myself at home with my laptop (laughs). Actually my fist dreamjob was Mediadesign for print of image and sound. I did all my first internships in that sector. Later I discovered my other passion, psychology, but I kept taking all opportunities to layout and design. To keep practicing really makes a difference.
How does it feel to accompany CHANCEN eG in their development and growth? What changed in one year? When I joined CHANCEN eG our office was still in Witten, where I am still studying. Which is why the relocation to Berlin was very significant for me. After that the team grew quickly and we took in more and more partner institutions. CHANCEN International was launched…Incredible everything that was achieved during that time.
What are your plans for the future?
In october I pause my masterstudies for 3 months and leave to travel around in Asia. We will see what happens after that. If CHANCEN eG still has a spot for me, I would happily come back.
