Across Kreuzberg, passing the Märkisches Museum, along the Spree, around the Gendarmenmarkt: On the 15.11.2018 CHANCEN International celebrated the kick-off of our new Crowdfunding-Campaign with a Night-Run to the Rwandan embassy. There the Rwandan ambassador H.E. Igor Cesar warmly welcomed the runners to the official launch event with juice and Prosecco.
“The word ‘Rwanda’ means ‘infinity’”, explains the ambassador H.E. Igor Cesar. Fitting to our financial model that offers sustainable funding for many, many generations of students.
Thanks to the Income Share Agreement, CHANCEN International is able to empower the female students in Rwanda to study and thereby to start a self-determined and fulfilled life.
Rwanda is closer than expected: Together with our community of financed students, partner-school representatives, friends, and supporters we started from our CHANCEN office. 7 kilometers and 45 minutes later we were welcomed by the ambassador on Rwandan territory in Berlin-Mitte.
The organiser Anna Dissmann was glowing over the innovative start of the campaign: “The sponsored run connects fun and sport with the opportunity of doing something good. And it was definitely a special feeling to run through the lit Berlin at night time.”
Directly on the spot, the first € 482 were collected. That finances 6 months of studies. A week after the campaign launch, already € 2972 were paid in. This corresponds to two places at the prestigious Akilah Institute in Kigali in 2019. But the money has multiple effects: through the repayments of the students the next and the further generations after the next one will be able to study.
